Being A Mom – 5 Tips To Better Manage Mom Stress
Struggling with being a mom? Here are 5 coping strategies tips for moms to survive the more stressful days.
Let’s chat about being a mom and mom stress.
Feeling stressed yourself?
Don’t worry you are not alone!
Parenting is definitely one of the toughest roles we will have in life but on the other hand, it can be one of the most rewarding jobs too.
It helps immensely though to keep your stress levels under control.
As a mom, we so often forget to take care of ourselves because we put other people and tasks first.
But that just makes us feel even MORE stressed in the end.
Thankfully there are some great strategies to help you deal with mom stress.
Coping Strategies and Stress Tips For Every Mom
BEING A MOM
TIP # 1 – Get the kids on a schedule.
Okay let’s start with the basics.
The best thing that a mom can do for herself is to get her kids on a schedule and keep them on it.
When you finally find a routine that works for you you’ll feel more comfortable handling breakfasts, lunches, naps, and bed times.
Conversely when you don’t have a schedule, you may begin to feel scattered or disorganized and your stress levels will increase exponentially.
This isn’t a way any of us want to feel on a daily basis so do your best to work out how you best can manage each day as it comes.
Yes things are always unpredictable when kids are involved, but even having the simplest structure – such as this is when we have breakfast, lunch and dinner, and this is when we go to bed – will help make, your days feel a little more predictable.
This predictable routine will make life easier for both you and your kids.

TIP # 2 – Don’t be afraid to put yourself in time out.
Is it fair to say that sometimes moms wish they too could go to time-out and be left alone for just ten minutes too?
Too many moms start the day like a horse running a race and they don’t stop until they collapse. But this isn’t ideal for anyone.
The truth is moms get tired, moms get frustrated, moms need a break and have to take a breather, just like kids do!
So instead of continuing to push yourself forward when you are about to snap, why not walk into another room and just sit down and breathe deeply for a few minutes.
While you are breathing, picture how you would like to respond to the situation and then remind yourself that it is important for you to follow through in a calm manner.
After all, you’re a role model for your children.
Take as long as you need to in “time out” until you feel refreshed and your mind is clear again.
This little strategy can make for a great day for the whole family!
BEING A MOM
TIP # 3 – Eat healthy.
If you ask 100 moms what their diets are like, at least 85 of them will look at you and cringe.
Sigh! I was once the same.
I used to go to great efforts to cook the healthiest meals for my kids and then I was too busy to sit down that I would just whatever for myself.
Unfortunately, there’s a tendency for moms to just eat what you can, when you can.
But even if you are on the go you need to make a conscious effort to eat well.
Keep in mind that when you eat nutritious foods, you are providing your body with the energy it needs to keep up with your kids and cope with the stress you encounter every day.

BEING A MOM
TIP # 4 – Create a support system.
I seriously couldn’t survive without my group of friends.
Catching up with other moms who know what it’s like to have challenges with kids makes for a great support system.
Even if you can’t get together every day, it is great to know that you have someone you can always call who won’t question your abilities but will just listen and empathize.
Without we admit it or not, all moms feel stressed at time, so make sure to surround yourself with other moms who are happy to listen to you when you need a shoulder to lean on; and be sure to return the favor!
BEING A MOM
TIP # 5 – Make time for yourself.
As a mom, we often forget how important our own mental and physical health is.
We fuss over our kids, making sure they are happy and rested and then forget to do the same for ourselves.
I am giving you permission to make a fuss over yourself!

I cannot overstate how important self-care is for moms.
This is why you need to make time for yourself every day.
You may think that there is no time, but that’s a lie.
All we have is TIME is our life.
It is simply up to us how we choose to use it.
I recommend scheduling some time for self-care into your diary BEFORE you add anything else there.
Schedule the most important things first!
If you are truly strapped for time, you can always sneak in some relaxation after the kids go to bed or before they get up.
BEING A MOM
Some ideas include:
Give yourself a manicure or pedicure
Drink that cup of tea slowly while enjoying a new magazine
Read a book
Take a long bath,
Or get a massage.
Your relaxation time doesn’t have to be extravagant, but it needs to be there.
Even 15 minutes every day JUST FOR YOU AND YOU ALONE can make all the difference when it comes to your stress levels.
