Automatic Thoughts – 5 Thoughts To Ditch ASAP
Tired of having negative automatic thoughts? Here are 5 thoughts to ditch ASAP in order to finally be happy in life.
Let’s chat about negative automatic thoughts.
FYI: Crappy thoughts suck! That’s what most people would say and for good reason too. This is because our thoughts are the most powerful thing we have the ability to control in life. We all hopefully know the power of thoughts by now.
What you think affects how you feel.
How you feel affects how you act and what you attract.
How you act creates your entire world which impacts your thoughts and so the cycle continues.
This is why it is so important to be careful about what you think because your thoughts really do run your life.
Your thoughts are the architects of your destiny and hold tremendous power.
You really can make or break your world by the thoughts you CHOOSE.
Read that sentence again:
You can make or break your world by the thoughts you CHOOSE.
Hopefully you understand that you have the POWER to choose your own thoughts.
Other than your thoughts, there is nothing else in this world that is absolutely under your control and in your power.
This is why it is so many to ditch crappy thoughts from your mind immediately because:
1 – Crappy thoughts stop you from finding true happiness and
2 – Negative thoughts and emotions such as these can really drain you.
CRAPPY THOUGHTS NEWS ALERT: Toxic thoughts can affect how experience life and make you feel bitter and resentful.
Just to make things easier for you I have outlined 5 crappy, toxic thoughts that you need to ditch ASAP and some counter-strategies you can use to increase your happiness:

AUTOMATIC THOUGHTS
1 – I’ll always be alone.
Yeah this is not the best thought to have.
You need to know that being lonely and feeling isolated are normal human emotions to have.
However, they become toxic when you think that things will always be this way.
This toxic thought only makes you feel more alone and disconnected from other people on this planet.
It can make you believe that you’ll never find love or a partner or that you aren’t worthy of love (all of which are not true). And it can also stop you from feeling joy.
Instead of thinking you’ll always be alone, focus on what you already have.
Do you have loving parents or siblings? Do you have amazing friends or coworkers?
Do you have anyone you can connect with, near or far? If you look carefully, you’ll see you’re never truly alone.

AUTOMATIC THOUGHTS
2 – I hate my body.
This is another sucky thought to have.
Hating your body – your gorgeous perfectly imperfect body – can be one of the most toxic thoughts in your mind.
If not contained, it can lead to eating disorders, self-esteem issues, and other challenges that you don’t want or need to have.
Here’s the thing: I said our bodies are perfectly imperfect above because there isn’t a person is this world they would say their bodies are without a flaw (even supermodels find things to complain about).
But our flaws are what make us human and unique.
There is no reason to dwell on them.
If you have to dwell on something, dwell on the things that make you feel gorgeous and special.
Why not?
Same energy, same effort but this one makes you actually feel GOOD.
Understand that your body is a gift.
It’s part of what makes you unique.
Notice the things you do like about your body.
Accentuate those characteristics, focus on them, and you’ll find it easier to start loving the body you have.
AUTOMATIC THOUGHTS
3 – I’m not happy with my career.
This is a tough thought to avoid thinking, especially if you think it’s 100% true.
But you need to recognize that even if your job – or your thoughts about your job more specifically – make you feel unhappy, it’s still another toxic thought.
You need to remember you have options!
And you can act on these options without thinking too much about how much you hate your work.
You can choose to think instead “I am ready to move onto something more fulfilling” or “Thank you old job for teaching me about what I love and don’t love to do at work”.
Of course, you should go out there and pursue a different career path if you wish.
Follow your passion for a new career without anger and resentment.
It’s always more beneficial to go toward something with an excited heart instead of away from something else with an angry one.

AUTOMATIC THOUGHTS
4 – I’m not worthy.
This toxic thought can wear many outfits (and none of them are really pretty – sorry for pointing that out!).
You may feel that you’re not worthy of love, success or money.
You may believe that you always have to suffer and struggle in life.
You may decide that you’re not meant for greater things.
This toxic thought can stop you from enjoying life and finding happiness.
BUT these feelings of worthlessness are only in your mind.
You’re a unique person who has value and always has had value, even if you’ve convinced yourself otherwise.
Often, this toxic thought comes from what you think others are thinking about you.
You falsely assume that others don’t see any value in you, so you’re self-esteem sinks to a low level.
But guess what?
It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks of you!
CRAPPY THOUGHTS REMEDY:
Consider starting a new game where you congratulate yourself each time you do something great.
Note the things that you do great.
Even small things count.
For example, maybe you were kind to a stranger or cooked a delicious dinner or remembered to water your plants.
Let your thoughts dwell on what you do right!

AUTOMATIC THOUGHTS
5 – I don’t have enough.
This crappy thought can manifest itself in multiple ways, such as thinking you don’t have enough money, skills, talents, or abilities.
You may also feel as if you don’t have enough connections, friends, children, or material possessions.
The scary thing about scarcity thoughts is that they stop you from appreciating what you already have around you.
They prevent you from finding joy in being thankful.
With these thoughts, you may never have enough material possessions or people to love, regardless of how many you actually have.
You can certainly strive for more, but it’s important to also be thankful for what you do have.
All in all, you really need to be mindful about the thoughts you choose to think.
Toxic thoughts are easy to create and often hard to eliminate.
If toxic thoughts have gotten a hold on you, it’s important to take action to kick them out of your mind ASAP.
Notice when these toxic thoughts arise and immediately, switch that thought to one that’s more positive and uplifts you.
This is an option you always have at your disposal!
Other options include: to meditate, repeat positive affirmations, and try to take constructive positive action so these toxic thoughts loosen their grip.
Do these actions consistently, and soon you’ll find that these crappy thoughts are spending less and less time in your brain.
Until next time, dream big my friend,
