Purpose Driven Life – 7 Reasons Why This Will Change Your Life

Want to live a purpose driven life? If so, here are 7 reasons why having a purpose will totally transform your life.

Let’s chat about a purpose driven life.

I speak often about knowing your purpose and why it is super important to have a purpose too.

Having a purpose – a reason why for everything you do here on Earth – makes it so much easier for you to make decisions, stay focused day to day and decide in which direction you want to move.

However, most people have never seriously considered what their purpose could be.

And sure, it can be challenging to establish your purpose if you seem to spend all of your energy just surviving life, rather than living it with joy and intention.

However, knowing your purpose can honestly make life a lot easier, which is why we are going to talk about it today!

It’s worth taking the time to discover your purpose and to build your life around that purpose because it gives you direction and clarity on how you should spend your time.

Consider these reasons why you might want to discover your purpose:

PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

1 – Knowing your purpose provides a foundation for making decisions.

Here’s a good question to think about:

How will you make a decision that’s right for you if you don’t know your purpose?

Your purpose is much like a compass and will shine a torch on the path you need to take.

When your purpose is clear, your options become so much easier to evaluate.

  • So, whether your goal is to attend Harvard Law School, run a marathon, or start your own company, knowing your purpose makes the best option for nearly any decision you make much clearer.

2 – When you know your purpose, you’re more likely to persevere.

It’s easy to give up if you’re not committed (especially if you don’t even have a goal!).

To the contrary, when you have a purpose and your purpose is the thing that you’re committed to, IT IS EASIER TO STAY COMMITTED.

Because hey, you actually have something that you can commit yourself to?

When those inevitable obstacles pop up, you’ll be in a much better position to overcome them.

3 – Life is short.

I always say life is short and time is precious.

That is why we need to use our time wisely rather than going through each day mindlessly wandering around.

You have a direction for your life when you have a purpose, as opposed to staying lost and confused.

  • Your purpose might be saving the animals, writing novels, raising babies, starting a business or anything really.

  • It doesn’t matter what your purpose is, but you can live a more meaningful life and take action towards it if you stop to identify it.

4 – Knowing your purpose provides clarity.

When you have a clear purpose, there is no stuffing around.

You know what’s important and what isn’t and you can act accordingly.

If you’re obsessed with writing a book, there’s no reason to stress about the fact that you aren’t a fast runner or your friend is smashing her business goals.

YOU HAVE YOUR OWN GOALS TO FOCUS ON.

Don’t worry about what anyone else is doing.

5 – Knowing your purpose minimizes distractions.

Once you are focused on your purpose, there is less time or reason to be distracted by the things that don’t really matter.

In all seriousness, many of the distractions in your life may be fun but in the grand scheme of things they may not really matter or be aligned with your truth.

You need to work out are these distractions serving you in any way and if not, what can you do to eliminate them.

When you have a real purpose, these semi-serious interests and mindless distractions will (or should) get kicked to the curb.

6 – It all but guarantees success.

Another great thing about having a strong, clearly defined purpose, it’s hard to shake it off.

When you focus on it with laser-sharp eyes and relentless determination, it is almost inevitable that you will reach your goals in the end.

I mean, if you are doing all the work, taking baby steps in the right direction and never giving up, where else will that take you?

To the contrary, it’s very difficult to be successful at something you feel half-hearted about.

  • Imagine now that you have a purpose that you’re totally committed to achieving. Now, imagine that it’s also very meaningful to you, and you focus on it every single day by taking action. How likely are you to be successful?

  • Contrast that with something you’re only mildly interested in that you consider to be rather meaningless. How successful will you be?

  • The difference in your results would be obvious but hey in this second case, it wouldn’t really matter because you didn’t really care that much in the first place.

7 – It adds to your charisma.

Let me start by defining charisma which is: a compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others.

Someone with a purpose just has this cool, interesting vibe about them as opposed to someone is just drifting through life and can’t commit to anything.

You’re much more attractive to others when your purpose is clear to you, because that spark, that passion, lights a fire inside you that people gravitate. Your enthusiasm is contagious.

  • Think of someone you know who is committed wholeheartedly to something. Now think of someone else you know who seems lost in the world. Which would you rather be?

All in all, when you know your purpose life is more meaningful and easier to navigate.

Decisions are easier to make.

Your days have order and focus.

You’re more engaged in your life and with others and you’re much clearer on what you’re trying to accomplish.

In the end, your purpose is something that only you can determine for yourself.

What do you think your purpose is?

What gifts have been given in this world?

(Note: we all have value and gifts in this world!)

Think of all your interests, and then consider how meaningful each one is.

Your purpose is somewhere in there waiting for you to find it.

Listen to your heart, go within and keep digging because it’s never too soon or too late to find your purpose.

Much love and best of luck xx
