FYI: When the pandemic first started, I personally decided that I was going to use this time to my advantage.

While others complained about how terrible it was, I decided it would be a blessing in disguise.

Did you know that you can literally check out different parts of the world from your computer or TV?

It’s true.

Google Earth is fantastic at allowing you to take a sneak peek into any city or country.

You can also try googling viewpoints from a drone.

Have you ever wanted to see Hawaii or the Himalayas but lacked the time or money?

No worries – there are so many videos available to watch where you can now see them from the viewpoint of a drone.

IDEA # 2 – Learn a new language.

 

Have you ever stopped to think about how many languages there are in this world and that you actually have the option of LEARNING a new language whenever you want?

There are numerous language programs available online to learn a new language.

Some are free and others are not.

But that’s okay – just search until you find a program that suits you best.

IDEA # 3 – Learn to play an instrument.

 

If you have plenty of free time at your disposal while you have to stay at home, you can use this to your advantage.

Now is your big opportunity to finally learn how to play the guitar, piano, or whatever other instrument strikes your fancy.

  • Check out YouTube. There are so many valuable free beginner lessons there for you to watch.
  • Please also note that there are private teachers and websites that will teach you any instrument that interests you over Zoom.

IDEA # 4 – Stream entertainment.

 

Now is the perfect time to check out all the entertainment you have never had time to watch before.

The good news is you can stream more than just movies and Friends reruns.

There are musicals, plays, the ballet, old sporting events, and workout videos for you to check out – plenty of options to keep you educated and entertained.

IDEA # 5 – Create a social media presence.

 

If you are someone who has been curious about social media now might be the perfect time to build up your social media presence.

  • You can always start a YouTube channel on any option you are interested in.
  • Other good options to check out include Instagram and TikTok.
  • At the very least, this might be the perfect opportunity for you to connect with like-minded people and enjoy the social interaction.

IDEA # 6 – Start an online business.

 

As an online biz owner myself, I am sure you guessed that this idea would pop up on the list.

 

One of the best things you can do right now from the comfort of your home is start an online business.

 

Build a website and see what happens.

Start a blog and get writing.

You never know – this could end up becoming a serious business and add a great boost to your income.

And who wouldn’t like another income stream?

Nine months after starting my first blog I was able to leave my day job and work full-time as an online entrepreneur.

The same could be true for you!

IDEA # 7 – Connect with a pen pal.

 

Oh as a teen who had two penpals that I considered to be my best friends, I am all for having penpals.

Thankfully there are still websites that will connect you with a pen pal for free.

Try writing to a few people and see what happens.

You might just make a great new friend from the other side of the world.

IDEA # 8 – Play games online.

 

Do you have a game that you would like to play better?

Maybe it’s chess or mahjong or poker?

 

Whatever the case you can play just about any game online that you can think of and at the same time stimulate your mind.

 

Even better, there are often other people in the world that like to play the same games.

Just because you’re home alone doesn’t mean you can’t play a game you love with others who want to do the same.

In the end, how you spend your time at home is all up to you!

 

It all depends on how you use your creativity to make the best use of your time at home.

 

Other suggestions include:

 

Reading a book.

Working on a craft project.

Decluttering your home.

Even better, writing a book!
