Action Is Taken – Here’s How To Take Action Imperfectly

Want to know how action is taken? Here’s how to take quick action on your goals today by doing it imperfectly.

Let’s chat about how action is taken.

Are you sitting down? Because I’m about to drop a truth bomb here.

If you have ever set goals in the past, but failed to achieve them, it may have been because you did not create a specific plan of action to accomplish those goals.

I want you to know that taking the time to set goals is only part of the process of goal setting, and many people often overlook the other part, which is creating a plan and taking action (hint: IMPERFECT ACTION IS PERFECTLY OKAY!)

FYI: Without a plan your goals remain incomplete.

It’s like having a destination but without a map.

Your goals tell you where you want to go in life, and your plan tells you how to get there.

A goal plan is simply a list of scheduled activities that you will do sometime in the future.

These may include activities done over a series of days, weeks, months or even years depending on the type of goal you set for yourself.

Now here’s something important for you to note:

Your plan does not have to be completed perfectly the first time.

In fact, I encourage you NOT to chase perfection as this will keep you stuck.

Usually, you will find that your first attempt at creating a goal plan will be vague and incomplete.

Don’t worry this is okay and totally normal.

Plans should after all be flexible and so are likely to be constantly updated as you move towards completing your primary goal.

In your plan you should therefore create a series of steps that you think you need in order to accomplish that goal.

So, think of it like baking a cake.

Your ultimate goal is to make a cake (and eat it!), but the ingredients and the things you do with those ingredients are your plan.

Once you complete the plan, you complete your goal.

So, what do you think you need to bake your cake aka goal?

Creating a goal plan is frequently overlooked, and even though many people discipline themselves to write their goals every day they still fail to create a plan!

Make sure you take the time to decide where you want to go (your goals) and then create a plan that will tell you how to get there.

But remember the goal is NOT to create the most perfect cake in the world.

Just aim to bake a cake that tastes great enough and you can do this by just taking imperfect action.

In addition to your goal plan and plan to take imperfect action, it’s also a good idea to use visualization to help clarify in your mind exactly what you want to achieve.

This can simply involve thinking about your goals, and imaging them as completed when you go to bed.

Imagine that you are taking imperfect action and that this is getting you to your goal.

You can do this for about 10 minutes (or longer if you want) before you fall to sleep, and you will be surprised at what a difference it makes in achieving your goals.

One of the main reasons visualizations before sleep is so effective, is that it provides easy access to the subconscious mind.

Thereby allowing you to program your goals into your mind, increasing the likelihood you will accomplish them.

Are you ready to get to work at creating a plan to achieve your goal?

The process doesn’t need to be complicated.

In fact, the simpler the plan the more likely you are to get to work at making it happen.

And don’t forget – the goal isn’t just to create a plan.

It’s to actually do the steps – one by one – by taking IMPERFECT ACTION.

I know and trust that you can do it my friend.
