Having Bad Days? – 8 Ways To Never Have A Bad Day Again
Are you constantly having bad days? Here are 8 ways to turn your days around so you never have a bad day again.
Let’s chat about having bad days.
I think it is obvious early on in life but we all have good days and bad days. However, wouldn’t it be great if you could eliminate most of the bad days from your life?
FYI – You have the ability to make good days the norm.
How is this even possible, you may be wondering? Well the thing is what constitutes a good day is debatable.
Maybe each day you’re alive could be considered a good day. Maybe it’s when you wake up in a country that is free.
This definition of what constitutes a good day is all up to you.
So ask yourself now: what has to happen for you to label a day as “good”?

Here are 8 strategies to eliminate the number of bad days from your life:
HAVING A BAD DAY
TIP # 1 – Refuse to have a bad day.
I know, I know.
There are many opportunities to have a bad day.
You might start the day on the wrong late, be running late or your car decides to break down.
Someone might speak unkindly to you or you spill tomato sauce all over your new pants.
- Having a bad day can be a lot like eating a piece of cake you know you should ignore.
- Just because it’s there doesn’t mean you have to bite.
- The cool thing is you can avoid letting a few minor mishaps ruin your day. You always, always have a choice regarding how you will react to any event that occurs in your life.
- It is your choice. You can choose to ignore an event or make it a big deal. Same event, two different reactions, two different experiences.

TIP # 2 – Choose to be happy, or at least content.
In spite of whatever is going wrong, you can make the decision to be happy.
Or if you can’t find any happiness, at least be content.
Yes, there is indeed a difference between happiness and contentment and contentment can bring you just as much peace into your life as happiness so it is another worthy goal to strive for.
For the record, I don’t truly believe that we were born to be HAPPY every single day of our life.
Of course if a family member passes you will experience grief.
Of course if a friend is diagnosed with cancer you will experience sadness.
These are normal human reactions to have and because they are normal reactions they do not need to define the way you spend your day.
Even in the worst of situations, you can still choose to have a good day or a bad day.
Once again you may be wondering how is this even possible?
It’s because acting with love and clarity and intention instead of rage or lashing out at others makes a day a good day rather than a bad one.
Release your expectations about life having to be perfect and try to see what’s good in each situation.

HAVING A BAD DAY
TIP # 3 – Spend time with someone you love.
Few activities can bring your perspective back to reality more effectively than spending time with a loved one.
The stress, worry, and anxiety honestly seem to melt away.
Do you have a close friend you can call?
A family member you can ring or see and have a good chat with?
Please do not underestimate these things – they are blessings that can turn an ordinary day into a great one.
HAVING A BAD DAY
TIP # 4 – Be on time.
Being late creates stress.
I’ve noticed myself that if I ever run late it has a domino effect of making me feel stressed and weird for the entire day.
Everything just feels off because I am feeling so rushed rather than relaxed.
The stress sets in the moment you realize you’re going to be late and it sorts of lingers there for hours afterwards because if you are late for one thing it often means everything afterwards is affected.
One way to nip this in the bud – don’t be late!
Do your best to be organized and on time and give yourself plenty of time to keep your schedule intact.

HAVING A BAD DAY
TIP # 5 – Have a morning routine.
If your morning starts well, you’ll find the rest of your day goes well.
How true is this!
A morning routine is the most effective way to get the day off to a positive start.
- An effective morning routine can include things like: waking up at the optimum time for you to feel refreshed, a review of your to-do list, wearing the clothes you laid out the night before, affirmations, exercise, and anything else you enjoy in the morning.
- If you feel more comfortable build your routine slowly and ensure it enhances your day and works for you rather than against you.
When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love. Marcus Aurelius
Morning is an important time of day, because how you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have. Daniel Handler
How you wake up each day and your morning routine (or lack thereof) dramatically affects your levels of success in every single area of your life.
Focused, productive, successful mornings generate focused, productive, successful days – which inevitably create a successful life – in the same way that unfocused, unproductive, and mediocre mornings generate unfocused, unproductive, and mediocre days, and ultimately a mediocre quality of life.
By simply changing the way you wake up in the morning, you can transform any area of your life, faster than you ever thought possible, Hal Elrod

TIP # 6 – Try doing less.
Having too much to do creates many challenges that get in the way of having a good day.
This is part a “time management” issue and part “thinking you are superwoman!”
Let’s just say I said you needed to do 5 tasks today and even though you knew they would stretch you, they were reasonable.
Now imagine that I upped your to-do list to 50 tasks.
You could try to get a lot from that list done but 50?
Geez. Seriously it was never going to get done in one day in this lifetime or another!
I recommend reducing your schedule to the most important 3-5 tasks.
Stick to focusing on your most important and urgent tasks (once you have identified them) and reschedule the rest for later.
Remember you need to be realistic with how much you can do with your time – sometimes less is more!
You need to also make sure you do not overwhelm yourself with stuffing too many tasks on your plate (and adding more after its empty) or you run the risk of suffering burnout.

HAVING A BAD DAY
TIP # 7 – Complete your most important task.
This tip continues from the one above.
There are few things more frustrating than a stressful day that accomplishes little.
This is why you should give yourself the gift of knowing that you completed at least one important task.
Remember urgent and important tasks first – save the not-important and not-urgent tasks for when you have time to waste.
I recommend completing it as early in the day as possible and giving yourself enough time to accomplish even more.
Your most important tasks and priorities are those that can have the most serious consequences, positive or negative, on your life or work. Focus on these above all. Brian Tracy
Your ability to select your most important task at each moment, and then to get started on that task and to get it done both quickly and well, will probably have more of an impact on your success than any other quality or skill you can develop. Brian Tracy

TIP # 8 – Be grateful.
Hopefully we all understand why gratitude is so important and has the potential to change the way you feel about your day.
Gratitude is when you are THANKFUL for all the things you have in your life.
It is when you appreciate even the smallest blessings like the ability to breath and think and make choices (which guess what, they really aren’t such small things now, are they?)

When life is wearing you down, I want you to take a moment to remember all the great things in your life.
Give yourself a few minutes to list all the positive people and circumstances in your life.
Are you healthy?
Do you have friends and family?
Can you make a decision?
Can you choose to look at life and your day in a different way?
Consider listing everything that fills you with gratitude as part of your morning routine.
That way, your attitude will be primed to have a good day.
And don’t be surprised if you discover your life is probably much better than you think!

In the end, you need to know that having a good day is relative.
The worst day for an average middle-class person living in the Western world might be the BEST DAY OF THEIR LIFE for a child in a third-world country (look! running water, a bed, a blanket, electricity, a fridge with food in it!)
Can you see what I’m getting at?
Only you can assign a quality label to your day.
And because ONLY YOU can make that choice, make the conscious decision to have a great day today and every day.
