IS IT NORMAL? YES
It’s totally normal to feel like you are sometimes failing as a parent.
It’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed.
It’s totally normal to want the occasional escape or break.
It’s totally normal to worry about your children’s future.
It’s totally normal to wish you could hold them in your arms forever.
It’s totally normal to cry when something you love slips away.

It’s totally normal to want to be happy.
It’s totally normal to not know what exactly makes you happy.
It’s totally normal to be annoyed at people who treat you bad.
It’s totally normal to slip up and say things you don’t mean.
It’s totally normal to lose sight of who you really are.
It’s totally normal to want to reclaim that sense of self and purpose.
IS IT NORMAL? YES
It’s totally normal to love your children so much it hurts.
It’s totally normal to feel annoyed and pissed off at them at times.
It’s totally normal to fear death.
It’s totally normal to want to freeze every beautiful moment in time.
It’s totally normal to feel crushed when you say goodbye.

It’s totally normal to wish things were “perfect”.
It’s totally normal to constantly fall short of that perfection.
It’s totally normal to have bad days.
It’s totally normal to almost lose hope in the face of despair.
It’s totally normal to want to do your best.
It’s totally normal to fail miserably.
IS IT NORMAL? YES
It’s totally normal to have flaws.
It’s totally normal to not recognize those flaws within yourself.
It’s totally normal to see flaws magnified in everyone else.
It’s totally normal to feel anger, disappointment, resentment and sadness.
It’s totally normal to wish for happiness, acceptance, peace and love.

It’s totally normal to be human and “real”.
It’s totally normal to make mistakes.
It’s totally normal to want amazing things in your life.
It’s totally normal to wake up and want to start over with a fresh slate.
It’s totally normal to not feel normal sometimes.
IS IT NORMAL? YES
Trust me, you are not alone.
All of this above is TOTALLY NORMAL.
You aren’t failing as a parent if you ever feel this way.
This is just a sign that you are a totally normal human being with thoughts and feelings.
We are all in this same crazy parenting boat together.
