This list simply reflect only my own personal experiences of watching movies with my own kids and yes, there is definitely some overlap with their favorites so please make sure to check out my other list of THE 40 BEST MOVIES TO WATCH WITH YOUR DAUGHTER.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE:

I have offered here a wide variety of movie recommendations for all age groups. As such, some of these movies will require parental guidance.

Please make sure to check out the reviews on Common Sense Media first (this is something I do before watching ANY movie with the kids) and use your own discretion.

Final update:  I wrote this original post a few years ago when my kids were younger. Our movie preferences have slightly changed over time but I’m keeping this post as-is because it was totally true (our favorite movies back then) at the time.

So without further ado here is the list of my favorite movies to watch with my son.

2 Rocky

This movie on this first sight seems rather outdated and most kids will assume it will be boring. But please stick with it and I promise you, they will be proven wrong.

My kids LOVE this movie! I also love the movie’s message of never, ever giving up and giving it your all, even when the odds are stacked against you.

The sequels are also highly recommended viewing as each movie continues exactly where the previous story left off.
