Drama In Life – 6 Ways To Eliminate Drama From Your Life

Staying away from drama in life is easier said than done. Here are 6 ways to eliminate drama from your life, simply and easily.

Let’s chat about drama in life.

Most of us can honestly say we would prefer to have less drama and keep drama at a minimum in our lives.

But sometimes this is easier said than done.

During stressful times or when dealing with certain people, you might find that drama is popping up more often than you’d like.

Maybe you’re at a breaking point, and you’re ready to finally eliminate the drama from your life once and for all.

If so, please keep in mind that it’s nearly impossible to eliminate it all together, but there are certain strategies you can follow to keep it to a minimum.

Consider adding the following strategies to your drama elimination methods:

DRAMA IN LIFE

TIP 1 – Keep to yourself whenever possible.

I don’t mean you need to become a hermit but you can choose to stay out of other people’s drama when possible.

It’s almost always best to adopt a “mind your own business” attitude when you’re dealing with other people (if their problems don’t concern you at all).

Seriously, when you snoop around in someone’s business, you really never know what is inside that Pandora’s Box you’re opening.

If possible, resist the urge to pry or intrude into other people’s issues.

TIP 2 – Avoid participating in gossip.

Humans are social creatures yet they tend to talk ABOUT each other.

Sometimes you might even gossip a bit yourself.

You might think that your gossip is good way to connect with others.

But gossiping (as opposed to general positive or neutral chitchat) tends to be negative, so just be wary when you play this gossiping game.

You never know how someone else might spin what you’re saying.

My best advice is to avoid it whenever possible.

  • If you have issues with someone, have a conversation directly with them as opposed to talking about it with every human in this world but the one person who matters the most.
  • That way they’ll know how you feel without hearing a different version of the story from someone else.

TIP 3 – Make effort to avoid or eliminate gossip.

You’ll no doubt find yourself in situations where you’re not participating in the gossip, but you’re in the company of other people who love to do it themselves.

It may feel difficult to go against the crowd and take a stand, but if you want to eliminate drama from your life this is a smartest choice to make.

Remember you can CHOOSE to be silent, you can CHOOSE to be kind and you can CHOOSE to not add fuel to the fire.

That way you won’t be held accountable for any unkind words you really wish you hadn’t spoken.

You also always have the option to politely say that the subject at hand should be changed to something else.

Yes seriously that is an option always available to you – simply change the subject!

TIP 4 – Be quietly cautious when meeting new people.

Nope I am not saying you should be rude or aloof to strangers.

Nor am I saying you can’t make new friends.

Of course it’s human nature to want to be friendly and inviting when you’re meeting people and making new friends.

However, it’s also important to make sure these new friends are trustworthy before you spill the beans on every tale from your life.

You never know how these tales will be spun.

Remember friendships and trust take time to be built.

You don’t want to encourage new relationships that are drama-filled into your life if you can avoid it.

  • Before sharing personal opinions and stories, ensure you know someone well enough to prevent future drama or misunderstandings.

TIP 5 – Analyze past dramatic situations.

Think about the scenarios that have led to drama for you in the past.

Was it a simple misunderstanding?

Is there a topic that always leads to drama and arguments?

You can definitely learn from previous situations that transpired negatively and led to drama.

Reflecting on these past drama-filled moments can help you avoid those similar situations in the future.

OUR FINAL AND MOST IMPORTANT TIP

TIP 6 – Learn how to release your emotions in a healthy way.

Here’s the thing: unnecessary drama can lead you to feeling strong emotions.

That being said, even if you’re trying to eliminate drama, you can’t just avoid every negative emotion that you’re feeling.

It is human to sometimes feel anger, to sometimes feel stress and sadness and frustration etc.

But if you are just bottling up these strong emotions it can lead to unexpected outbursts.

That’s because at some point these emotions will boil over if you haven’t settled and tamed them.

Instead, you can learn new positive ways to release your emotions.

There are lots of positive ways you can release your negative emotions.

If you’re starting to feel upset because things are getting heated, you can always remove yourself from the situation for starters.

Grab some fresh air and return to the situation once you’ve found a cool head.

  • Exercising is another great way to release emotions and pent-up stress.
  • Daily relaxation is also important. Do something that you enjoy each day just for you!

FYI: You need to remember that some people just love drama – in fact they thrive on it!

Consequently they might try to stir some trouble up for you.

But it’s okay.

You can refuse to take the bait and participate in their game.

Make a conscious choice to let go of drama.

You are an adult and get to decide what you want and do not want to have in your life.

Here’s some more simple advice:

  • Drama does not just walk into your life. Either you create it, invite it in or associate with it.
  • Here’s a good recipe for drama – one cup of gossip mixed with 14 teaspoons of rumors and a dash of jealousy.
  • Don’t start drama and then say you hate drama. Some people create their own storms and then get upset when it rains.
  • People who have no life will always try to start drama in yours.
  • There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama and the people who create it.
  • Maturity starts when drama ends.
  • Now get to work on seeing what you can do to actively reduce the amount of drama in your life.
