Fulfilling Life – 6 Secret Tips To Having It All

Want to know the secret to a fulfilling life. Here are 6 tips to show you how it could be possible – to have it all!

Let’s chat about a fulfilling life.

People often say they want to “have it all,” but is that even possible?

And what does “having it all” even mean?

There are a lot of different opinions on the topic.

Some people believe it’s entirely possible.

The world is your oyster remember!

Others insist that you can’t even come close to achieving it because having it all is an impossible goal.

Like many things in life, the most reasonable answer is, “It depends.”

You can certainly have a lot in life, if you’re willing to make enough of a sacrifice.

Consider the following tips:

TIP # 1 – Decide what having it all means to you.

Everyone says they want to “have it all,” but what does that mean to you?

Make a list of everything that you would have to have and experience in your life on a regular basis to be 100% satisfied with your life.

Take all the time you need.

Keep these categories in mind:

  • Relationships
  • Health and physical goals
  • Possessions
  • Hobbies
  • Career
  • Community

TIP # 2 – Now notice the items that are under your control and those that are not.

Review your list a little more closer now.

I want you to divide your list into two columns: The things you can control and those you cannot.

Some thoughts to consider:

  • You can’t control your spouse’s level of patience, tolerance, or their waistline.
  • You can’t control every aspect of your children.
  • You don’t have complete control over your career.
  • You’ll quickly find there’s not a lot that you can control in your life beyond your focus, effort, and attitude. Worrying about other things is an exercise in futility.
  • You can however always control your REACTION to certain events.
  • You can always control if you choose to view your mistakes and failures as lessons.

TIP # 3 – You can’t have everything.

Time, money, and energy are limitations.

After all there are only 24 hours in every day.

Consider the following goals below:

  • Having a committed spouse
  • BEING a committed spouse
  • Actively being involved in your community
  • Being a 100% committed parent
  • Or an excellent friend
  • Being a great employee
  • Or a great boss
  • Mentor
  • Perfect neighbor
  • Big house
  • Luxury car
  • The list of things we can strive for goes on and on.

Just reading this list can be enough to make you feel a little stressed, right?

After all, how well could you accomplish ALL of those things and still enjoy your life and have TIME FOR YOURSELF?

TIP # 4 – With your idea of having it all, do you think you would be still be relaxed and happy?

Guess what?

Sometimes a simple life leads to higher levels of satisfaction and happiness.

To the contrary, the more complicated your life, the less satisfied you’re likely to feel over the long term.

TIP # 5 – Life is about priorities.

Just because you may not be able to have EVERYTHING that doesn’t mean you can’t have a lot.

As long as you are aware that the more you want, the more it’s going to cost you, you will be okay.

Keep in mind though that the more you want, the more complicated your life will become.

And the more complicated it is, the more scattered your energy and focus become.

  • So really, what are your priorities in life?
  • Based on those priorities, re-answer the first item on this list.
  • The more things you ultimately want in your life, the lower your performance level will have to be in one or more areas.

In the end, “Can I have it all?” is an ambiguous question.

Can you have it all if having it all means having a loving spouse, good kids, a cozy home, pleasant career, and a dependable circle of friends?

Sure, of course you can.

Can you have it all if you want to perform at the highest possible level in multiple categories in your life?

Ah that is more doubtful because if you are chasing perfection in the end SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE.

TIP # 6 – Having it all is limited by your definition of having it all.

It all depends on HOW you define having it all.

After all, there’s only so much time in a day.

There’s a limit to how much anyone can do.

Look at the most successful people in the world.

While they may excel in one or two areas, some other aspect of their life is usually a complete mess (or not nearly as fabulous).

It’s almost a universal truth.

Excelling at one area really does require that you make a sacrifice in others.

It’s up to you to determine how much you’re willing to sacrifice.

Ask yourself that question now: what are you prepared to sacrifice in pursuit of your dreams?

You can indeed HAVE IT ALL if what you want is reasonable, and you’re both determined and committed.
