FYI: The last chapter of your life has not been written yet.
You hold the pen. So it’s time to write the story you want to read in the end. If you want something you have never had before, you need to be prepared to do something you have never done before.
Every day is another chance for you to change your life.
That being said: it takes time to undo a lifetime of bad choices, but you’d be surprised how much you can accomplish in six months if you’re committed and take consistent action.

Six months is manageable.
You can start a business in six months.
You can lose weight in six months.
You can write a book in six months.
Alternatively you can break up with a toxic partner or friend in one day.
You can ditch a bad habit in one habit.
You can quit your job in one day.
You can start exercising in one day.
Please do not underestimate the sheer value of time.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE
TIP # 1 – Set four goals.
Start by setting a goal in each of the following areas: Financial, Health, Career, and Other.
Most of us could use a money, health, and career boost and there’s the OTHER category too so you can add a miscellaneous goal that’s allows for some more fun.
- You might want to set a goal for your bank account balance, earnings, or pay off your debt.
- Need to lose a few pounds? Want to bench press 250 pounds? Follow a healthy diet for six months?
- Perhaps you want a promotion, to change companies, or to change fields.
- You could set a goal to travel somewhere, master a song on the piano, start learning a language, or buy a new car. The possibilities are endless.
A good goal is something that you believe is possible but it should also be challenging and stretch you.
It should also be something that makes you excited when you think about achieving it.
You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight. Jim Rohn
If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much. Jim Rohn
Most “impossible” goals can be met simply by breaking them down into bite size chunks, writing them down, believing them, and then going full speed ahead as if they were routine. Don Lancaster
My philosophy of life is that if we make up our mind what we are going to make of our lives, then work hard toward that goal, we never lose – somehow we always win out. Ronald Reagan

TIP # 2 – Measure your current situation.
The next step is to understand where you are starting from – what’s your baseline?
If you want to increase your savings account to $10,000, it’s obviously best if you know your current balance.
The same goes for your weight if you’re trying to lose weight.
What is your weight right now?
Or if you want to run a 5-minute mile, you need to know how fast you run a mile right now.
Where are you starting from?

TIP # 3 – Create a plan.
Based on where you are, and where you want to go, what is a logical plan to get there?
Remember that you have six months to achieve this goal so plan accordingly.
A plan is only as good as those who see it through. If you don’t plan, how do you plan to succeed?
Make time for planning: Wars are won in the general’s tent.” Stephen R. Covey
An hour of planning can save you 10 hours of doing. Dale Carnegie
Good planning without good working is nothing. Dwight D. Eisenhower

TIP # 4 – Determine the habits you need to ensure success.
You will need good habits to get you to your goal! If you want to lose weight, your exercise and diet habits are important.
Savings and spending habits are similarly important for financial goals.
Sending a certain number of resumes each day might be important if you are chasing a new career.
Take a close look at the habits you have right now.
Your habits have a tremendous impact on the results you achieve in life.
Good habits yield good results.

And once you understand that habits can change, you have the freedom and the responsibility to remake them. Charles Duhigg
In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently. Tony Robbins
Successful people are simply those with successful habits. Brian Tracy

TIP # 5 – Set short-term goals.
Even though six months is not that long, some people will still find it easy to procrastinate.
If that’s the case and you are struggling to focus it’s time to set short-term goals that will lead to your long-term goals.
Sixty days is about right for a short-term goal.
- Take the time now to set 60-day and 120-day goals for each of your 6-month goals.
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE
TIP # 6 – Take action.
Even with the best plans in the world, nothing happens until you take action to reach your goals.
You need to be prepared to get off your butt and make things happen to really change your life in six months.
A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided. Tony Robbins
Action is the foundational key to all success. Pablo Picasso
When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps. Confucius
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE
TIP # 7 – Keep a journal.
I personally am a big advocate of journaling.
I can’t imagine staying sane without my journal.
If you don’t have one already take the time to buy a journal in which to record your feelings, plans, ideas, results, and observations.
You’ll get a big kick out of looking back on your journal someday too when you start to see progress.
Journal what you love, what you hate, what’s in your head, what’s important. Journaling organizes your thoughts; allows you to see things in a concrete way that otherwise you might not see. Focus on what you think you need to find in your art. Kay Walkingstick
I don’t journal to ‘be productive.’ I don’t do it to find great ideas or to put down prose I can later publish. The pages aren’t intended for anyone but me. It’s the most cost-effective therapy I’ve ever found.” Tim Ferriss
Journaling is like whispering to one’s self and listening at the same time. Mina Murray
Keeping a journal of what’s going on in your life is a good way to help you distill what’s important and what’s not. Martina Navratilova

TIP # 8 – Measure your progress.
One of the best ways to note real constructive change is to regularly measure your progress.
It’s important to know how you’re doing, so you can make any adjustments.
I mean, how will you know if your diet and exercise plans are working if you never get on the scale?
How will you know if you are going in the right direction if you don’t regularly stop to check in, look around and make sure you are on the right track?
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Frederick Douglass
Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable. Every step toward the goals requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals. Martin Luther King
Don’t compare your progress to that of others. We need our own time to travel our own distance.
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE
TIP # 9 – Be flexible in your approach.
Hey I should warn you: you’re probably not going to create the perfect plan right out of the gate.
There will be a lot of fine tuning along the way.
Flexibility requires an open mind and a welcoming of new alternatives.
Stick to your goals but be willing to change how you accomplish them.
Blessed are the flexible for they will not be bent out of shape.
Stay committed to your decisions but stay flexible in your approach. Tony Robbins
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE
TIP # 10 – Cross the finish line. Giving up is the only way to fail.
And here we are at the last step!
You now need to keep going, even when you feel like quitting.
Remember you will never, ever get to the finish line unless you start.
Keep going and never, ever give up.
Eventually the finish line will be in sight and you will be so proud of yourself for achieving this massive transformation.
Do not just HOPE to cross the finish line.
You need to EXPECT that it is within your reach!
