It’s Okay To Be Different – How To Celebrate Your Differences

Let me start by telling you the truth – it’s okay to be different! If you often feel like the odd one out READ THIS today.

Let’s chat about how it’s okay to be different!

I often speak about the importance of letting go of our need to conform.

For some reason it is something a lot of us fear.

We fear being different.

We fear feeling like we are a square peg trying to fit into a round peg hole.

I know it’s sometimes easier to blend into the crowd.

In fact many people try pretty hard to fit in, by acting the same, dressing the same and doing their best to look the same.

Except here’s the thing: humans were made to be different.

You won’t find a single person in this world who looks exactly like same, thinks exactly like you or behaves in the exact same way as you (yep, even identical twins are different in many ways).

So don’t feel stupid if you want to do something different from everyone else.

Don’t feel tempted to agree when you don’t like what everyone else pretends to love.

You don’t need to conform – that is, do what everybody else is doing regardless of whether it is right or not.

You don’t need to give in to peer pressure, just to fit into a group.

IT’S OKAY TO BE DIFFERENT

LET ME TELL YOU A TRUTH – it’s OKAY TO BE DIFFERENT

Eagles fly alone. Pigeons flock together.

The most courageous act is to simply be YOU.

Even if it doesn’t feel like it will happen, people will respect you for being strong enough to stand up for what you believe in.

Don’t be afraid of being different.

Be afraid that you are squashing your real self out of a desperate need to be like everyone else.

You need to learn to think for yourself at some stage in your life.

There is nothing impressive about being a sheep or a puppet.

IT'S OKAY TO BE DIFFERENT

IT’S OKAY TO BE DIFFERENT

People will respect you for standing on your own two feet.

Besides, you have to be a bit odd to be number one in your life (I love this little pun!).

Your story is unique and there is little point in falling prey to the comparison game.

I mean seriously, who cares what other people think?

You are the one who has to do what you think is best for you.

You have to live your own life and walk to the beat of your own drum.

Let other people worry about their own life instead.

So learn to celebrate your individuality because this will bring your true freedom.

When in doubt remember this wise quote by Kurt Cobain: “They laugh at me because I’m different. I laugh at them because they’re all the same.”
