Naturally Boost Energy – 10 Quick Tips For Super Tired Humans

Looking to naturally boost energy? Here are 10 quick tips for super tired humans that will instantly make you feel more energetic.

Let’s have a conversation about how to naturally boost your energy.

I don’t know about you but I often catch myself feeling tired.

Fatigue and a lack of energy have been problems for all my life, especially since becoming a mom.

In an effort to find out why, I’ve done lots of research, asked health professionals, read books, and finally decided that some questions have a super simple rather than complicated answer.

Today I will be sharing with you the things that I do daily to alleviate my fatigue, especially if I have had a crappy night’s sleep (due to someone else interrupting it, much to my dismay!)

Below are some natural energy boosters that have worked for me and others over the years.

Try them to see which work best for you, and use more than one at a time if necessary.

1 – Energetic music

This might seem too simple of a suggestion to work but I have found that I’m personally energised by some types of music.

I hear a particular song and instantly feel more awake and alive.

Do you have any songs that do that to you too?

Make you want to dance?

Make you want to move your body?

FYI: Different types of music obviously have different effects on us, but you can learn which are best for you by trial and error.

Once you find the music that wakes you up, keep it ready.

2 – Sleep

It is recommended that we get 6-8 hours of sleep per night but I’ve obviously found that closer to 8 hours obviously makes me feel more rested.

If I have been interrupted during the night I do my best to sneak in a little cat nap during the day.

Make sure to set up a nice evening routine so that your sleep comes to you easily.

You can try drinking something warm before bed, or relax with a simple meditation.

I love journalling simply because I found that doing a big brain dump clears my mind and makes it easier for me to go to sleep.

3 – Talk about something interesting

Have you ever seen a tired person start to talk about something they’re passionate about, and suddenly “wake up.”

It’s a powerful technique you can use for yourself.

Have a few “favorite” subjects that get you going.

What do you love talking about?

What topic makes you feel energized?

Focus your attention on the things you love.

How to know if this technique would work for you:

Imagine someone you love asking you out for coffee when you are tired – for me that would be Oprah or my favorite author Paulo Coelho.

Would you be too tired to say yes or would you suddenly find a second wind and find the energy to accept the invitation? I know I would definitely be jumping up with joy and rushing to get ready.)

4 – Coffee or tea

For some of us, caffeine makes us more tired when it’s abused, but short-term, it can work wonders.

5 – Deep breathing

This is something I practice often when I am feeling tired.

I take lots of deep breaths.

Several slow deep breaths help oxygenate the blood supply better, and especially seems to wake up the brain.

6 – Have an energy drink

I personally don’t drink them but I’ve had way too many people say that this gives them the pick-me-up they need when they are feeling exhausted.

Hence the reason it’s on the list.

It’s a cheap option you can try if you really need to get a fresh boost of energy.

7 – Move your body

It seems counterproductive I know.

I used to think people were crazy when they recommended that I go for a walk when I was tired.

I was like I CAN’T GO! I’m too tired!

But lo and behold whenever I give this a go it really does result with me feeling more energetic.

Sometimes just getting up and washing the dishes, or walking around the house also helps boost energy levels.

8 – Exercise

As above.

In addition to going for a casual stroll, you can partake in a more energetic workout.

It’s not a quick solution, but many people notice an increase in their energy level when they get regular aerobic exercise.

9 – Hot and cold shower

This is another experiment I tried when I used to feel tired throughout the day.

I would jump into the shower and wow, almost instantly I would feel more awake again.

Try a minute of hot water, then a minute of cold, alternating for six minutes.

This isn’t for those with weak hearts, but it will wake you up.

Incidentally, research shows that this also revs up the immune system.

10 – Get outside

Sometimes the simplest suggestions are the best.

Go outside.

Visit a forest or the ocean.

Breathe in the fresh air.

Look at the gorgeous world around us.

Oftentimes, a little sunshine and fresh air can be exactly what we need to energise us.
