True Potential – 8 Steps To Help You Reach Your FULL Potential
Want to know how to reach your TRUE potential? Here’s exactly how to do it: the 8 specific steps to help you reach your full potential in life.
Let’s chat about your true potential.
If you’re wondering how a person can actively reach their potential then you have come to the right post!
Here’s the thing: most people look back on their life and wonder what they could have accomplished if they had only been more decisive and committed.
How would their life be different if they actively tried?
How would THEY be different as a person if they were more focused and intentional with their thoughts and actions?
The cool thing is that you can avoid that kind of regret by choosing to become the best you can at something.
So what is it that you want to master?

Untapped potential is the difference between where a person is now and where he or she can be. Bo Bennett
The big challenge is to become all that you have the possibility of becoming. You cannot believe what it does to the human spirit to maximize your human potential and stretch yourself to the limit. Jim Rohn
Push yourself to do more and to experience more. Harness your energy to start expanding your dreams. Yes, expand your dreams. Don’t accept a life of mediocrity when you hold such infinite potential within the fortress of your mind. Dare to tap into your greatness. Robin Sharma
Potential is a priceless treasure, like gold. All of us have gold hidden within, but we have to dig to get it out. Joyce Meyer
There is no man living who isn’t capable of doing more than he thinks he can do. Henry Ford
Here are 8 steps to help you become the very best person you can be:
TRUE POTENTIAL
TIP # 1 – Assess your strengths.
Your greatest potential will usually involve one of more of your strengths.
So do you know what those strengths are?
Do you know and recognize what you are really good at?
Most of your strengths can be applied to any endeavor with a focused approach.
- The first step is to identify these strengths. What are you better at than nearly everyone you know? What has always been easy for you? What are you best at?

TRUE POTENTIAL
TIP # 2 – Assess your weaknesses.
Do the same with your weaknesses.
It helps to know what we need help with.
If possible you can work to improve and strengthen these weaknesses but it’s helpful to also avoid or delegate them when you need to take action. .
Relying on your weaknesses increases the odds of failure.
Focus on your strengths instead.
TRUE POTENTIAL
TIP # 3 – What do you like?
It’s not just about effort and skill.
In order to achieve your full potential you will need to invest time and that is so much easier to do when you are enjoying what you’re doing.
You might have great potential to be the world’s greatest chess players but guess what?
If you can’t stand playing the game, there is no point in chasing this goal.
Think about what you enjoy doing.
What activities cause you to lose track of time?
What things do you actively seek to do even if there is no monetary reward for it?
For me I was writing privately for many years way before I ever made it my career.

TRUE POTENTIAL
TIP # 4 – What do you want to accomplish?
Now that you know your strengths, weaknesses, and likes, you need to decide what you actually want to master.
Put simply: what do you WANT to do?
Like really, seriously?
You can’t move forward and succeed without making this important decision.
The truth is: everything moving forward depends on this decision.
What is your gut reaction to this question?
What is your heart telling you to do?
Consider how you will measure mastery.
How will you know when you have reached your full potential?
What does that mean to you?
Is it when you are earning six figures or getting through the day without loss of patience or angry bursts?
Is it when you can play a specific piece of music on the piano?
How will you know you’ve reached your goal?

TRUE POTENTIAL
TIP # 5 – Avoid distractions.
In case you haven’t guessed, distractions are the enemy to progress.
We all have things we enjoy doing that accomplish nothing other than providing temporary amusement (and a distraction from our goals).
Make a list of your favorite distractions.
Do they add long-term or short-term value to your life?
Do they keep you from doing the things that you really should be doing?
If so, how willing are you to avoid these items?
Make a plan because having less distractions is a good indicator of your potential for success.
TRUE POTENTIAL
TIP # 6 – Find a mentor.
Oftentimes we can’t reach our ultimate potential without a mentor, coach, advisor, or cheerleader sitting in our corner.
Having a mentor can literally shave years off your learning curve and help you to avoid the mistakes you’re destined to make on your own.
Seek out the very best in your field and make contact with these people.
Do they offer a coaching program?
At the very least, read books on the topic written by experts.
Your own personal library can provide you with plenty of mentors that you can tap into at any point in time.
TRUE POTENTIAL
TIP # 7 – Make a commitment.
Mastery also requires commitment.
It’s the commitment to develop yourself, overcome obstacles, stay patient and focused and to put in the necessary work to make your goals come to fruition.
It’s the commitment to find a mentor and to avoid those appealing distractions that can keep us from reaching our potential.

TRUE POTENTIAL
TIP # 8 – Focus on improvement.
One of my favorite mantras is EVERY DAY IN EVERY DAY I AM GETTING BETTER AND BETTER.
That is sometimes all that is necessary – just small consistent and regular improvements every single day.
Consistent progress is the key to mastery.
Mastering anything can take time, many years in fact so be prepared to be patient!
Word of warning: If perfection is your daily goal, you’ll be sorely disappointed.
That’s because perfection doesn’t exist!
Weekly progress instead is an attainable goal that will keep you moving in the right direction, step by step closer to your goal.
So if you are looking to realize your true potential, please know you have it in you.
We all do and there is never a better time to start than now, before it’s too late.

Working towards your full potential will give you a new level of pride and confidence.
It will make you feel as if you are using your time wisely.
It will make you more intentional with how you spend your time.
Yes, it will take some sacrifice to get to your goals but most people find it’s worth the sacrifice.
So what are your dreams and what do you want to work towards mastering?
Whatever it is, you can do it!
Only you hold the key to your true potential so go and use that key to open some doors!
The will to win, the desire to succeed. The urge to reach your full potential – these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence. Confucius
Your inner potential cannot develop without your willingness and conscious participation. Philip Arnold
The tragedy of life is what dies inside a man while he lives. Albert Schweitzer
