Accomplish The Tasks In One Minute To Transform Your Day

Want to know how to accomplish the tasks you have and prioritise your most important ones? Do these quick 1 minute tasks FIRST.

Let’s chat about how to accomplish the tasks you have to complete each day.

Sometimes we stall and feel overwhelmed because our tasks feel so big and looming.

Here is a simple way to get over that. Do some quick one-minute tasks first that have the domino effect of making you feel better and more motivated to do the bigger tasks on your list.

Here are several things you can do in just one minute to potentially improve your life:

ACCOMPLISH THE TASKS

1 – Deep Breathing:

Every day when you wake up or feel stressed take a minute to practice deep breathing. Here’s what you need to do: Inhale slowly through your nose, hold for a few seconds, and exhale through your mouth. This can help reduce stress and increase focus.

2 – Gratitude Journaling:

This is the quickest way to shift yourself into an attitude of gratitude and feeling blessed in your life. Quickly jot down three things you’re grateful for. You can either do this on paper or in your head. Cultivating gratitude can have positive effects on your overall well-being.

3 – Stretching:

Does your body feel achy and as if it’s squashed into a small box for way too long? Spend a minute stretching your muscles. Lie down and stretch each body part out. Raise your arms above your shift. Gently shift side to side. This can help improve flexibility, reduce tension, and increase blood flow.

4 – Drink Water:

Feeling dehydrated is often connected to fatigue and migranes. The quickest way to nip this issue in the bud is to drink some water. Hydrate your body by drinking a glass of water. Staying hydrated is crucial for overall health and it should take you less than a minute to do. When you feel better you can do better.

5 – Unplug:

This is one of the most powerful one-minute tasks that you will find on this list. Step away from screens and take a digital detox for a minute. Turn off your phones. Put an end to the endless mindless scrolling.

This will not only help reduce eye strain but also improve your focus and give you back so much time that would have otherwise been lost to your devices.

6 – Express Kindness:

How hard is it to be kind? Not hard at all, if we are totally honest with ourselves. Many kind tasks will take you less than a minute to complete. Send a quick positive message to someone you care about. Say I love you. Say I’m sorry. Say thank you. Acts of kindness, even small ones, can boost your mood.

7 – Set a Goal:

Setting a goal won’t take you long but it will help direct your attention and focus for the rest of your day. Use a minute to set a small, achievable goal for the day. It could be a work-related task or a personal goal. It really doesn’t matter as long as the goal is something related to a result you want to achieve in your life.

8 – Quick Organizing:

Have you ever heard the phrase: messy home, messy mind? This is because our physical environment can impact our mood and the way we show up in life. Take the time to quickly idy up a small area of your living or working space.

You can even set the timer for one minute and see how much organising you can get done in that short time period. You will be surprised that you can do a lot of organizing in just one minute. And the best thing? A clutter-free environment can contribute to a clearer mind.

9 – Mindfulness Meditation:

People often tend to think that in order to benefit from meditation that you need to set aside 30 minutes a day to practice it effectively. This is simply not true. You can do one minute meditations whenever you think you would benefit from that recentering exercise.

Practice a short mindfulness meditation by focusing on your breath for one minute and one minute only. This can help you feel more centered and calm.

10 – Plan Tomorrow:

Do you know what you want to accomplish tomorrow? Give it some thought now and spend a minute planning out your tasks for the next day. It can help you start the day with a clear direction. Just like the other tasks, it doesn’t require much time to complete but it does require you to make quick decisions.

How great is this suggestion? It should take you seconds versus a full minute to complete? Even if it’s just for yourself in the mirror, smiling can trigger positive emotions and reduce stress.

13 – Learn Something New:

There are plenty of quick 1 minute videos you can watch that will teach you something new. Set aside some time to watch a short educational video or read a quick article on a topic you’re curious about. If you’re feeling stuck on this, open a dictionary and simply read the definition for a new word you haven’t heard before.

14 – Laugh:

Laughing is another one of those gift-giving activities that happens quickly but positively impacts your mindset and mood for a long time afterwards. With that being said, watch a funny video or recall a humorous memory. Laughter has numerous health benefits and will lighten your mood for the day.

15 – Practice Posture:

I’ve always loved this piece of advice that I once heard from my son’s physio. She said to do your best to: SIT TALL, STAND TALL AND WALK TALL. Take a moment to sit up straight or adjust your posture right now. Good posture will definitely make your body feel stronger and contribute to both physical and mental well-being.

In a nutshell, keep in mind that small actions can add up to significant improvements over time. Please don’t discount the above things just because they don’t take you too long to do.

They may be quick but their impact is powerful. Incorporating these quick activities into your routine will hopefully contribute to you getting more done each day and living a healthier and more balanced life.

I wish you the best of luck, Frances xxx
