Personal Goals For A Woman – 7 Ways To Take Action

Personal goals for a woman are important. If you have goals here are 7 reasons that will make you take action today.

Let’s chat about personal goals for a woman.

I thought it would be fun to give you the quickest summary of why I think goal setting is so important.

The short list of reasons looks like this:

1 – To give you direction to life

2 – To make sure YOU are the one choosing the direction of our life — not others, not fate, not the media, etc.

3 – To motivate you

4 – To make sure you get what you want from life

5 – To save you time (yes! Because you are no longer wasting it on crap)

6 – To reduce your stress (which comes from a lack of clarity and having constant mind drama)

7 – To give a sense of accomplishment (the biggest reward)

Now I know not everyone loves setting goals.

They think: oh no it’s so much for much to do whatever I like.

Go on social media.

Watch TV all day.

Not have anything extra that I’m forcing myself to do.

Except while it can be fun to live without direction in the short-term, in the long-term human beings are wired to need a purpose and direction.

Doing nothing all the time doesn’t feel so great in the end.

We end up having nothing to show for our time.

We remain stuck in the same place.

Sometimes regret also creeps in because we know we aren’t living to our potential.

Goals give a sense of direction and purpose to life.

It is often easy to let others set our direction for us.

We take a job because maybe once upon a time our parents or friends pointed us in that direction and then we follow the dictates of our bosses.

We move in other directions because popular culture or the media tells us to do so.

The media tells us what we should want and desire.

The simple truth is that if we do not set our own goals then we will find it too easy to follow a path set by others.

This can lead to stress and unhappiness.

You know the kind – that settles over you like a funny feeling, that something is missing, that we were made for more.

We have a greater chance of happiness and fulfillment following our own path and pursuing our own goals.

While goals certainly give our lives direction, they also provide the motivation to get us through difficult times and choices.

They serve as a light at the end of the tunnel.

We get excited about the prospect of actively making our dreams come true.

Perhaps going to college at night while working full-time may be stressful and difficult in the short-term, but in the long run being able to pursue the professional goals we desire will make it worthwhile.

Goals also serve as the destination for what we really want out of life.

They are much like a compass, pointing us in the direction of our north.

For some people, goals are measured in money or material goods, while for others goals are measured in time or freedom.

It really doesn’t matter what your goals are as long as they are important to you.

Yet if we don’t have goals outlined that are clearly defined and set our heart on fire suit it’s super easy to become side-tracked by life and others.

Goals can also help save time.

When your “To Do” list becomes too long and your calendar too full, then you can simply compare your goals to the list.

What tasks will help you achieve your goal?

What items are necessary to your goal?

Is there anything you are doing that isn’t necessary?

You have the choice to scratch the things off your list that aren’t important.

Just as goals save time they also reduce stress because using your goals to focus your life and choices makes it easier to make those choices.

Should you take that new position at work?

Yes or no? How does it mesh with your long-term goals?

Is it taking you closer or farther away from the goal you are chasing?

Finally, goals give you a measurable sense of accomplishment.

Seriously this is the best part of dream chasing.

Getting the goal done.

Knowing that it was possible and that you MADE it happen.

You did it even if you had to face a hundred obstacles along the way (totally normal).

Every goal you achieve, in fact every step you make toward that goal, can give you a boost of energy and momentum to keep going.

So, remember this: goals aren’t bad.

I don’t encourage you to set them in order to torture you in some way.

I always have your best interests at heart.

So take the time to think about what you want to achieve in life.

And write it down.

There you go, now you have some goals.

The next step is to go out and begin working on them today.

Better now than never.

Until next time, dream big my friend,

Frances  xx
